Hyderabad: Three-year imprisonment for ex-police constable turned burglar
A local court in LB Nagar on Friday has sentenced three-year imprisonment to a former constable who turned as burglar and involved in 42 cases across the state.
R Amar Singh, a native of Nagarkurnool district joined as a constable in APSP in 1990 and was posted in the police battalion in Yousufguda for 10 years. However, Singh quit the job and went to his hometown after his wife elected as Sarpanch and then started farming. Singh who addicted to luxuries and pleasures turned to burglary after he did not find enough money.
He turned as burglar and had committed 42 burglaries in residential colonies in Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda commissionerates and across the state.
Though Singh was arrested several times, he repeated committing the offences after releasing on bail. After a sequence of theft cases at LB Nagar, he was arrested by the police in January and sent to judicial remand at Central Prison in Cherlapally.
Meanwhile, the Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat invoked Preventive Detention order against him on 5th March and arrested in the jail. The Metropolitan sessions court in LB Nagar found him guilty in 14 burglary cases and imposed three years imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 10,000 in each case.
