TS BJP Bandi Sanjay chief demands suspension of DCP

Hyderabad: Following the Kali Mata temple controversy, Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay on Wednesday demanded that the government protect the lands owned by temples and also demanded suspension of the local DCP. Addressing a press conference, along with MLA T Raja Singh, Bandi Sanjay said that if the government did not respond on the issue within 24-hours, the Chief Minister would be held responsible for BJP agitation on temple lands in the Old City.

The BJP chief alleged that the local DCP behaved irresponsibly against the women protesting at the temple site. "The police officials supported the encroachers with a lower court order even though there was a High Court order against the encroachers," said Sanjay. He also found fault with the DCP stopping him abruptly and denying him to go to the police station. "As the DCP stopped me, hundreds of MIM goondas gathered and raised slogans. The DCP who should preserve the law and order tried to support the MIM workers," he alleged.

MLA Raja Singh said that there was a tamasha going on in the Old City since morning. The land mafia was trying to take away 8 acres and 15 guntas of land belonging to Kali Mata temple in survey number 24, 25, and 26, which has a value of Rs 150 crore. He said that the endowments and the police officials colluded with the encroachers.

The endowments department did not implead in the case in lower court, which showed they were in cahoots with the encroachers. He alleged that the police had planned to create a communal atmosphere and tried to blame the BJP, but they failed.
