Hyderabad: Two companies set one million meals target
Hyderabad: Employees of a corporate firm extended helping hand not just by contributing monetary relief, but also volunteering to render service. They have been distributing essentials and food since the imposition of lockdown. Aldrich Capital Partners (ACP), based in US, and its partner companies in the country, including Lavu India, distributed relief materials in form of 'ration kits' comprising rice, wheat flour, edible oil and pulses among other essential supplies.
According to Lavu India general manager Abdul Khuddus, as many as 25 employees of the companies were involved in the exercise. "The group sought help from different NGOs to identify locations in the city with poor financial and economic status. The kits were prepared and segregated locality-wise, and distributed through volunteers at different locations," he said.
Thousands of kits were provided to destitute, daily wage workers, young widows etc in several areas such as Shaikhpet, Kawadiguda, Yakutpura, Jubilee Hills, Mangalhat, Maula Ali, Saber Nagar, Attapur, Karwan, Bowenpally, Maula Ali and Amberpet. Around 2,000 kits were distributed in Aurangabad in April.
"The initiative was part of CSR operations. ACP is continuing its food distribution in May 2020 as the lockdown is continuing and more and more people are suffering from food shortage. ACP and its partner companies will serve one million meals during the Covid lockdown to the deserving families," Khuddus added.
