Hyderabad: Two-day custody for tahsildar who held in bribery case

The ACB special court on Friday granted two-day custody for Keshampet Tahsildar Lavanya, who was arrested in a bribery case last week.

Lavanya, who is currently at Chanchalguda jail will be taken into custody by the ACB officials tomorrow.

The Tahsildar demanded Rs 5 lakh bribe through a Village Revenue Officer (VRO) of Kondurgu village in Rangareddy district for updating the land records of the complainant.

During the raids conducted at the Tahsidar's house, the ACB officials unearthed Rs 93.5 lakh cash and 42 tolas of gold.

According to the ACB officials, the VRO demanded Rs 8 lakh bribe from the complainant out of which, the Tahsildar share was Rs 5 lakh.
