The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) has postponed UG/PG semester exams on Friday after the Telangana government announced of holding a review meeting on the conduct of exams next week.

The JNTUH had announced the schedule for final exams from June 20. However, after severe backlash from the students, the varsity instructed the colleges not to hold any exams until further notice.

"The principals of the colleges are informed to note that decision on the semester examinations of the final year as well as other year students of UG and PG courses of all autonomous, constituent and affiliated colleges of JNTUH, shall be taken by the state government. Such time, no institute should conduct any examination including mid-term examinations," the notification reads.

Even as the government decided not to detain first and second-year students, the final year students are yet to take the exams including those pursuing degree courses -- BA, BCom and BSc. The conduct of exams will be decided after the review meeting scheduled early next week.
