Hyderabad: Unemployed JAC demands filling up of vacant posts

Musheerabad: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of unemployed youth held a state meeting on the premises of Gagan Mahal College on Friday. President of BC Welfare Association R Krishnaiah was the chief guest of the meeting. The meeting called for a statewide movement to demand the State government to fill vacant posts.

Krishnaiah lamented that Group-1 and Group-2 exams had not been conducted for the last ten years and unemployed youth were anxiously waiting for government notifications in this regard. He demanded that the state government issue notifications for recruiting Group-1 and 2 posts and other 2.5 lakh vacant government posts. He condemned the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao for not fulfilling his election promise to provide a job to each home. Many important administrative positions such as deputy collector, joint collector and other posts were lying vacant, weakening government machinery, he said. Severe injustice was being done to unemployed youth as services of retired employees were being extended, depriving youth of employment opportunities, he said. Krishnaiah said that nearly 2.5 lakh employees had retired in the last ten years, but the posts were not filled. Moreover, several new posts were created with the formation of new districts which were also not being filled, he said. He called upon unemployed to fight against the state government's apathy towards them.

Among those who participated in the meeting included chairman of unemployed JAC Neela Venkatesh, vice president of BC welfare association Krishna, BC leaders Kota Srinivas, Allampalli Ramkoti, state general secretary of BC youth association Ananth Sagar, Suresh Swamy, R Chandrashekar Goud and others.
