Hyderabad: UoH assistant professor hangs self in campus
An assistant professor from the University of Hyderabad (UoH) committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling here at his residence in the campus on Sunday. The police suspected that he might have ended his life over family problems.
He was identified as Dr Rishi Bharadwaj (40), a native of Himachal Pradesh. Bharadwaj was an assistant professor and is the head of the department of Optometry, School of Medical Science.
The police said that the professor was suffering from family issues for the last few months and was depressed for past some days. On Sunday morning, he took the extreme step when his wife went out for a morning walk. By the time, his wife returned, he was found hanging.
The professor was shifted to Citizen Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. The Gachibowli police were alerted who registered a case and took up the investigation. The body was handed over to the family after autopsy.
