Hyderabad: VHP, Bajrang Dal oppose Valentine Day celebrations
Koti: Activists of VHP and Bajarangdal took out a rally from VHP office at Koti to Andhra Bank crossroads and burnt Valentine Day greeting cards, condemning Valentine day celebrations on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, state convener of Bajarangdal Subash Chander urged youth to protect Indian culture and traditions and not fall prey to western practices. He said that they were not opposed to lovers but to the programs organized by corporate organizations and pubs.
He said that they had given letters to pubs, coffee shops and hotels urging them not to conduct Valentine Day celebrations. He urged youth to boycott the celebrations and pay tributes to 45 martyred soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Phulwama terrorist attack on February 24.
Among those who participated in the protest include VHP and Bajarang activists Lakshman Rao, Koti Pramukh, Abhishek, Madhu, Akhil and others.
