Hyderabad woman sold to Sudan national, family seeks govt. help
A woman from Chandrayangutta has been sold to a Sudanese national for Rs 2 lakh by an agent who initially promised her to offer job as a nurse in a hospital in Dubai. The woman who was in Dubai managed to contact her family members and said that she was cheated by the agent.
After learning her daughter's misery, the family members appealed to the state government to bring their daughter back to the country. MBT leader Azmedullah Khan also urged the help from external affairs minister.
The woman, a resident of Ghouse Nagar in Bandlaguda, had worked as a nurse when she befriended one Fathima. Fathima told the victim she can earn more money as a nurse in gulf countries and promised to send her to Sharjah to work in a hospital. She sent the victim to Dubai on December 15.
The woman was received by Amar Ahmed Umer who took her to his home and said that he had bought her for Rs 2 lakh from Fathima. The woman was sexually violated by the Sudan national and health deteriorated. However, she managed to record a video of her condition and sent it to her family members and sought their help.
The family in Hyderabad approached the Chandrayangutta police for further help.
