Hyderabad: Women's Day fete held at Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services
Hyderabad: Women's Day celebrations were held on Friday at the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), Hyderabad. Nationally distinguished achiever Swati Lakra, Inspector General of Police, was the chief guest. She gave an overview of the comprehensive and balanced activities of 'SHE' Teams, the 'Bharosa' Centre programme and the unique child-friendly court set up at Hyderabad under her supervision.
Lakra stressed that the requirement of 'gender equality ' may be fulfilled by addressing all the areas where women are vulnerable and especially with equal encouragement to both female and male children from an early age. She also visited INCOIS facilities and interacted with scientists, during her visit .
As part of the celebrations, a Rangoli competition for women employees of INCOIS was held along with a varied cultural programme presented by the women staff of INCOIS.
