Hyderabad: Women's Day fete on a grand note at SBI

Hyderabad: SBI organised a programme in connection of International Women's Day on Saturday at Local Head Office. On this occasion, O P Mishra, CGM felicitated Dr Vijaya Rukmini Rao, Executive Director of Gramya Resource Centre for Women, and donated a cheque for Rs 50,000 for the benefit of her NGO.

Dr Rukmini Rao hails from Hyderabad and had won the "Woman of the year" award in 2014, a recognition bestowed by the national magazine "the week" and social impact award in 2015. Gramya Resource Centre had won the best NGO award in the mandal in 2015 and the best NGO award in Telangana state in 2016. The activities of the NGO are: Supporting women facing domestic violence and help them to rebuild their lives; To prevent trafficking of girl babies internationally; To promote child rights, education, as well as adolescent girls rights; and, to prevent child marriages.

The dignitaries who graced the function were V Ramesh, GM, U N N Maiya, GM, Bangarraju, DGM & CDO, Hanumantha Rao, AGM PR, and all women employees.
