Hyderabad youth gets 10-year-jail for sodomising minor boy

The first additional metropolitan sessions court on Thursday convicted a 20-year-old youngster and sentenced to undergo 10-year-imprisonment for kidnapping and raping a six-year-old boy at Hafeez Baba Nagar in January 2019. The accused was also asked to pay Rs 3,000 fine.

On January 6, 2019, the accused, a snooker parlour worker and also collects scrap kidnapped the victim when the latter was playing with other boys. He then took them to an isolated place and sodomised him. Later, the accused abandoned the boy and fled the spot.

However, the victim went home with bleeding injuries and informed his parents who took the boy to Kanchanbagh police station and lodged a complaint against the accused. The boy was later shifted to Niloufer Hospital for treatment.

The police detained the accused on January 9, 2019 and registered cases under sections 363 (kidnapping), 377 (unnatural offences) and POCSO act.
