Hyderabad zoo park first to get ISO 9001:2015
Bahadurpura: For the first time in the country, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, with its standard working procedures, has acquired ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards Certification from ASCB, UK. HYM International Certifications Pvt Ltd Accredited by ASCB (UK) recently conducted assessment of ISO 9001:2015 Certifications, with the team members T Sundar Ramaiah a retired District Judge, C Madhu Babu, auditor, Sivaiah Alapati, MD, lifetime membership, QCI.
The team conducted the audit in a phased manner and expressed satisfaction and happiness over the standards being followed in the park, particularly in the fields of sanitisation, food processing, animal breeding, zoo hospital, animal care, hygiene maintenance and establishment.
According to zoo authorities, transparency at all works, response to any emergency round-the-clock, and the standards being followed which fulfil the criteria for ISO certifications, have inspired the team in conveying all the information and standards along with a strong recommendation for ISO certification of Zoo park.
The certificate was presented to Minister for Forests A Indra Karan Reddy by Sivaiah Alapati, MD, Lifetime Membership, QCI.
The Minister appreciated Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Director and all the zoo staff for their efforts in securing the certification. On the auspicious occasion, the Forest Minister announced the birth of four white tiger cubs on the Zoo Day on October 6, and a Gaur (Indian Bison) on November 5.
