Hyderabad's Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge likely to open by July end
The cable bridge that is being constructed over Durgam in Hyderabad is nearing completion and is likely to be opened by June end. The bridge which is under the final stages of construction will be opened from Monday to Friday for the traffic once it is launched.
Efforts are underway to complete the Rs.184 crore project which cut down the travel time for the commuters travelling from Mind Space to Jubilee Hills by two kilo-metre. R Sridhar, chief engineer of GHMC said that the traffic will not be allowed on Saturday and Sunday but the people can park their vehicles in an earmarked space and walk on the bridge to enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake.
At present, works such as the installation of side railing and architectural lightning were on which are expected to get completed by next month-end. Also, the flyover on Jubilee Hills road no. 45 that leads to the cable bridge will also be opened by July end.
Besides enjoying the scenic ambience of the lake, the multi-colour theme lighting will provide an eye-feast to the public during the night times. The lighting is designed with various themes to suit for different occasions and festivities.
