Huzurnagar (Suryapet): TPCC President and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy strongly condemned the repeated violation of protocol by the TRS government in the State by ignoring the elected representatives of the Congress.

Stating that the State government didn't invited him properly to the inauguration of Mattapally bridge held recently, though it falls under his Lok Sabha constituency, he said that he would lodge a complaint with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla against the State government for violation of protocol.

He visited Mattapally Bridge in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency, which falls in Nalgonda constituency, on Sunday and interacted with the tribals of Mattampalli mandal. They alleged that their lands were grabbed by outsiders with false documents with active collusion of the ruling party leaders and officials. They also complained that goondas are being employed to dispose of their lands and the local police are helping the land grabbers. Uttam assured them that the Congress and he will stand by them.

Later speaking with the media, the TPCC chief said the bridge connects Mattapally village in Suryapet district of Telangana to Tangedu village in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, which reduces travelling distance to Guntur by 50 km, thus saving both time and money of hundreds of regular commuters. The construction began in January 2014 in the undivided Andhra Pradesh State and completed in 2018. He alleged that the TRS government had delayed its inauguration by not laying approach roads just to deprive the Congress of the credit for the bridge construction.

"The TRS government is habituated to take false credit for the achievements of the previous Congress regime. Mattapally bridge is a glaring example of how the TRS government is cheating the people with wrong claims of achievements," he said. The TPCC Chief alleged that the TRS government only painted the old and existing reservoirs and pipelines to show them as new constructions under Mission Bhagiratha, as Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao believes only in laying foundation stones or painting the existing infrastructure to stake false claims.

Criticising that the TRS leaders simply inaugurated the power projects that started during Congress regimes and were making false claims of resolving energy crisis, he said the Congress will expose all false claims of the TRS government.

Later, the TPCC chief also visited Gurrambodu Thanda and other tribal areas in Huzurnagar constituency. He alleged that large chunks of tribal lands were being illegally encroached upon by the local TRS leaders and Suryapet district officials are not taking any action to stop these illegal encroachments.

He demanded the State government to take immediate action to protect tribal lands.

Later, he inaugurated Rama Rao Laksvath's statue at Peekalnaik Thanda and other programmes in Huzurnagar constituency.

TPCC chief Uttam Kumar informed that the Congress will organise a dharna before all District Collectorates on Monday (January 11) demanding withdrawal of new farm bills of the BJP government at the Centre and the TRS government's decision to do away with IKP and procurement centres. He said the Congress is organising the protest in support of the farmers, whose agitation entered 46th day on Sunday. Uttam condemned Prime Minister Narender Modi for not responding to the farmers' agitation even on humanitarian grounds. He also informed that the Congress will organise

Raj Bhavan Gherao on January 15, following the call given by All India Congress Committee (AICC). He directed the Congress cadre to participate in the proposed agitation in their respective districts.
