Hyderabad: Congress MLA from Sangareddy, T Jagga Reddy, on Saturday said that he would not contest in the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled to be held in 2023 if he was given the post of PCC president by the party high command.

Addressing the press at Assembly media hall, Reddy said that the State government was deliberately trying to make the ongoing RTC strike issue into a complex one.

Commenting on the Sadak Bandh programme of the RTC workers, he said that they would block highway at Sangareddy on November 19 as per the instructions of TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and senior leader V Hanumantha Rao.

Reddy said that he would go to Delhi on November 20 and request the party high command to appoint him as the next PCC chief.

He stated that he had already sent his biodata to the party high command by a registered post.

The MLA mentioned that he was requesting the party high command to appoint him as the PCC chief as he was capable of bringing back the party into power after the 2023 elections in the State.
