Illegal chilli seeds seized in Khammam

Khammam: Task force police on Wednesday seized illegal chilli seeds worth Rs 48 lakh in Khammam rural mandal. According to Task Force ACP G Venkata Rao, they have received information that some people are making fake chilli seeds without permission and selling the same in the market illegally. Police conducted a surprise raid on seed preparing unit at Gudimalla tank in rural mandal along with agriculture officials and found bags containing fake chilli seeds. The ACP said seized chilli seeds' bags were handed over to rural police. Police took one worker into custody and owner of the unit P Venkatanarasaiah is absconding. Joint Director of Agriculture Jhansilakshmi Kumari and other officials participated in the raid.
