Illegal constructions become rampant

Tandur: Municipal officials' apathy has increased the illegal constructions and shopping complexes in the town. Encroachments have increased after the officials turned blind eye to the menace.

According to reports, a businessman has taken up new construction at a main junction after demolishing the old building. One should take permission from authorities concerned to demolish old buildings and construct new buildings.

The businessman has failed to take permission from the authorities, and as a result the municipality is losing its income. Town planning officer Irshad speaking to the Hans India said that one should take permission from the officials concerned to construct and demolish buildings. He said that they didn't receive any complaint regarding the construction at the site and added that they would take action after observing it.
