Kothagudem: Incensed by jibe against RTC, Left parties burn CM's effigy
Kothagudem: The Left party leaders staged a protest and burnt an effigy of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for taking a jibe at the ongoing RTC strike and the employees, in Kothagudem on Friday. During the protest, they called upon RTC workers to intensify their fight against the government.
Stating that Chief Minister was not obeying the High Court orders with regard to strike, they said that the CM was behaving like a monarch and soon his party would bite the dust in the upcoming municipal elections. They demanded the State government to call the RTC unions for talks and resolve their issues at the earliest.
CPM District Committee members J Krishna, L Bala Raju, Town Secretary Bhukya Ramesh, N Satyanarayana, Anil, Yaragani Krishnaiah, Laxmi and Raja Rao, CPI leaders G Satyanarayana, Srinivas Reddy and Jamalaiah and CPI( ML) leaders Sanjeev and Satish and others took part in the protest.
Anganwadi teachers, workers take out rally
In support of RTC strike, the Anganwadi Teachers and Helpers Union recognised under Centre for Indian Trade Unions took out a massive rally in Kothagudem on Friday. District secretary of the Union G Padma and along with district leaders and members of the Union took part in the rally.
Speaking on the occasion, Padma said it was shame on the part of the State government for not initiating any steps to solve the issues of transport corporation workers though their protest entered day 21 on Friday. Recalling the RTC workers role in the Statehood movement, she said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had forgotten that RTC workers played a pivotal role in the Sakala Janula Samme which led to the formation of Telangana State.
She appealed to the government to immediately to respond to the strike and solve the workers issues. Later, they met RTC workers protesting at the Kothagudem bus stand and expressed their solidarity with them. Leaders of the union P Padma, Venkatamma, Anjali Devi, Durga, Krishnaveni, P Venkatamma, Radha, Srilatha, Shoba, Manjula, Laxmi and others took part in the protest rally.
