Increase pass percentage in degree colleges: Collector Dr A Sharath
Jagtial: District Collector Dr A Sharath ordered the principals and lecturers of degree colleges to take necessary steps for increasing the pass percentage in their respective colleges.
The Collector held a meeting with the principals and lecturers of various degree colleges present the district, at the Collectorate conference hall in Jagtial on Thursday.
Speaking at the meeting, the Collector said all necessary facilities required for a degree college will be provided as per the suggestions given by the college principals, so that students can concentrate more on studies. It is the responsibility of lecturers to increase the college strength.
They must take necessary steps for admitting more number of students in various courses their college is providing, he added.
The principals of various colleges must encourage the staff for increasing the pass percentage of the students. The lecturers must focus on the studies of every student so that all students can achieve better results by trying to solve the problems they have been facing in their studies, suggested Collector Sharath.
The government has sanctioned boys hostel for SKNR college and the college staff must encourage the students to take hostel facility and concentrate on studies. If there are any problems in women hostels regarding accommodation of girl students, then take any building for rent and run hostel in that, he suggested.
Later, the Collector discussed about the facilities in Metpalli and Korutla government degree colleges and enquired about admissions of these colleges.
Joint Collector B Rajesham, Coordinator Dr A Ashok, degree college principals Chandra Kumar, Srinivas Reddy, Vasavi, district treasurer S Padma and lecturers were present along with others.
