Innovative changes incorporated in new Municipal Act: KTR
Hyderabad: In the new Municipal Act of Telangana, path-breaking and innovative changes in Town Planning have been incorporated.
In order to change the existing rules to comply with the new Act, Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development KT Rama Rao held a meeting with Principal Secretary MA&UD, Director DTCP, Chief City Planner, GHMC and other officers today. Subject matter experts Mr. Bhide retired OSD, HMDA and retired deputy planners were also invited.
During the meeting, the Minister emphasised that the underlined theme to bring about these changes is to uncomplicate and simplify the procedure and process to the maximum so far as Town Planning is concerned. The ease of convenience for citizens, availability of all information in a simplified manner and need to cut down any physical interaction was emphasised. Minister pointed out that there should be multiple access points for obtaining required permissions which includes MeeSeva, mobile app, the website of the ULB, KIOSK at the ULB among others.
It was also decided to incorporate QR based Digital Door Numbering and comprehensive Master Plan for each ULB.
Further, it was decided to have a uniform Customer Care number for all municipal queries pertaining to the new Act.
