Innovative schemes helped in developing city: Ex-Mayor Ravinder Singh

Karimnagar: With the launching of various innovative scheme, various developmental activities were taken up under Karimnagar Municipal Corporation, informed former City Mayor Ravinder Singh.

Former City Mayor Ravinder Singh has presented the progress report of Karimnagar Municipal Corporation at a press meet at R&B guest house here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that it is the responsibility of the Corporation to look after the health of the people and sanitation across the city. Several hardships were faced to attain Smart City tag for the city and taken up various developmental activities under it, he added.

Singh said they had received appreciations from various sections of people within the State and from the country for introducing various innovative schemes like for 'Anthim Yatra-Aakhri Safar', funeral for one rupee; tap connection for one rupee; health check-up for one rupee, opening of oldage homes, providing two times meal for poor people under Karimnagar Municipal Corporation etc. Karimnagar city is transformed as a place of best living and affordable place to live in because of which it occupied 11th position in the category of easy living. All the responsibilities handed over by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao were fulfilled perfectly under KMC. With the spirit, the TRS is going to grab the Corporation seat once again in the coming up Municipal elections, Singh said.
