Intensify safety inspections to maintain highest safety standards: SCR GM

Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya advised the officials to intensify safety inspections at different timings over the zone to maintain highest safety standards and accord top priority with no compromise attitude in train operations.

He conducted a detailed review meeting on Safety, Punctuality and Freight loading today i.e., 4th November 2019 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. The Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded attended the meeting through video conference.

Gajanan Mallya issued special instructions to give high priority for protection of workstations where men are working near tracks in emergency situations. He also stressed on ensuring safety by curtailing asset failures which are leading to loss of punctuality and the late running of trains. He instructed all the staff and officials to monitor carefully each and every aspect of failures like Loco failures, Yard derailments, Signal & Telecommunication failures etc which are leading to loss of punctuality and safety.

He also said that maintenance of machinery/equipment regularly as per the schedules will give good results and fewer failures. He appreciated all the DRMs for maintaining good punctuality results compared to Railway Board targets. He also instructed the officials to ensure the best coordination among all the departments and pay special attention for improvement and maintenance of the punctuality.

SCR Principal Chief Operations Manager K. Siva Prasad and other senior officials were present.
