Interstate burglars arrested, 5 lakh jewellery seized in Warangal

Warangal: The CCS police on Wednesday arrested three interstate burglars involved in several house break-ins and seized gold and silver ornaments worth around Rs 5 lakh from them.

A bullion trader who purchased jewellery from the burglars was also arrested. Disclosing this to media persons here, Warangal Commissioner of Police V Ravinder said that the accused were identified as Pentiya Parthi, Rajesh Mongia and a juvenile offender, and the bullion trader Narayana Soni. The other two members of the gang - Rajendra Singh Mongia and Changiram – are absconding.

The gang members who were involved in thefts and pick pocketing cases in the past were arrested several times in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. The members shifted to Warangal after they became familiar faces to the police. Since then they broke into several houses in Matwada police station limits.

The CCS police who were given the responsibility of cracking the case formed special teams with inspectors Ravi Raj and Jeevan Reddy. They got a tip-off arrested the gang members when they tried to meet Narayana Soni near the bullion market area. The Commissioner of Police commended CCS ACP Babu Rao, Warangal ACP Narsaiah, inspectors Ravi Raj, Jeevan Reddy and Ramesh Kumar, SI Venkateswarlu and ASI Veeraswamy for arresting the gang.
