Interstate Taekwondo Karate competition inaugurated in Gadwal
Gadwal: The interstate Taekwondo Karate competition was launched in Gadwal district on Monday. Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy along with prominent Karate master Srihari inaugurated the Taekwondo Karate competition amidst cultural activities and grand celebrations at Brundavan Garden function hall in the district.
While speaking on the occasion, Gadwal MLA said that it is great pride for the district to host such an Interstate competition in Gadwal for the first time.
"Competitions like Taekwondo are usually held in bigger cities like Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam, but this time it is Gadwal district hosting this event," the MLA said.
The MLA said that students, youth and specially girls must adopt this martial art skill for their self-defence. The MLA promised that he would definitely help in allocating a special place for training Taekwondo in the district. He also promised that he would do whatever he cold to improve the sports culture in Gadwal.
As many as 1,200 students from various districts across Telangana have come to Gadwal to take part in the Taekwondo competition. Library Chairman BS Keshav, Taekwondo Federation of India Treasurer Achutya Reddy, Telangana State Olympic Association supervisor Satish Kumar, all the presidents of Taekwondo associations of various districts and others participated in the programme.
