Speaking on the occasion, ZP chairman P Madhu said that the government has designed the 30-day action plan to strengthen villages present across the State. He said that there is no proper sanitation in villages. "Some of the villagers are keeping their houses clean and dumping garbage on roads, which is not good. It is our responsibility to keep our villages neat and clean, he told.

ZP Chairman P Madhu said that food adulteration has become more common in the society. If all people get united, then this problem can be prevented.

Collector Devasena said developmental works should be done as part of 30-day action plan, with perfect planning and by involving the villagers. The government had sanctioned about Rs 35 crores for this programme, which was handed over to all the village panchayats present across the district.

She told the officials concerned to fill the pits that are present on the roads and impose a fine of Rs 500 to the villagers, who dump waste on the road and in open places. The officials and villagers were told to remove weeds grown in open places and to empty stagnated water and to fill up wells that are not in use.

The government has constituted 100 flying squad teams to inspect the ongoing works under 30 -day action plan. The teams will inspect villages and will send the report to the government and if any village panchayat is lagging behind then they have to face punishment, the Collector informed.

Village sarpanch Mamatha, MPTC, peoples representatives and officials of concerned departments were present at the programme.
