IPL betting claims youth life in Hyderabad
A 21-year-old youngster committed suicide on Tuesday by hanging himself to the ceiling fan at his home in Turkayamjal of Hayath Nagar.
Akhil Kumar, a degree third year student had lost in the IPL betting and paid Rs 15,000 by selling his mobile phone. However, Akhil's parents noticed his mobile was missing. When the parents confronted him, Akhil said that he had left his mobile phone at friend's place.
On Tuesday, Akhil's father asked him to collect the mobile phne from friends. Fearing of disclosing the betting matter and unable to get back his phone, Akhil committed suicide.
The police shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital and registered a case based on the complaint lodged by Akhil's father.
