It's a minority appeasement tactic, says Krishna Saagar Rao
Hyderabad: Telangana BJP on Monday termed the Telangana Cabinet decision of passing a resolution to repeal CAA in the Assembly as a minority appeasement tactic.
Addressing the mediapersons, party's State unit chief spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao said the Cabinet decision exposes the 'copycat' mentality of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in blindly following Communist and Congress ideologies for the electoral expediency.
KCR's reference to other States like Kerala, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh only highlights the political bankruptcy of TRS. It exposes the minority appeasement politics similar to that of Congress and Left parties. The BJP leader reminded that so far, the TRS chief hasn't gave any substantive factual reason for his opposition to CAA.
He reminded that the State Cabinet is a constitutional body and it can't pass a resolution against a national law passed by Parliament. BJP considers the resolution passed by the TRS government not only illegal but also unconstitutional.
Rao said that opposing, non-implementation and disregarding a national law as per Indian constitution part 11 and Articles 256 and 257 and it is a serious violation by the State government. In turn, it can even warrant a recommendation by the State Governor for president's rule by invoking Article 356.
He said that his party challenges KCR if he can pass a written order against NPR implementation in Telangana State, instead of passing useless resolutions against CAA for political posturing and to woo minority voters.
That apart, the Chief Minister should have been conducted the Cabinet meeting in Telangana Bhavan instead of Pragati Bhavan as it looked more like TRS election campaign meeting for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.
The 'Pattana Pragati' proposal in the Cabinet meeting is just another election gimmick by CM KCR, to whitewash its neglect of the city and its development for the last five years, he said.
