Jagadgirigutta: Demand to roll back gas price hike

Jagadgirigutta: Activists of IFTU, PYL and PDSU staged protest at Indira Gandhi statue located at Jagadgiri last bus stand, condemning price hike of domestic LPG prices. The general secretary of Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal district units of IFTU, V Praveen, condemned steep hike in domestic gas cylinder prices, affecting poor and middle-class people severely. He said that the government had increased gas prices by Rs 289.50 in the last six months, burdening labours, farmers and middle-class people.

PYL leader Pagadal Srujan criticised the Modi government for increasing the gas prices and not addressing unemployment problem in the country. He demanded that the central government withdraw the hike. Among those who participated in the protest were labour leaders D Mallaiah, Mohan Rao, youth association leaders Ganesh, L Naresh, Vasu Reddy, Nagaraju and others.
