Jagga Reddy demands Godavari water for Sangareddy

Hyderabad: Congress MLA from Sangareddy Constituency T Jagga Reddy urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to provide drinking Godavari water to Sangareddy for meeting the drinking water requirements of the people.

Addressing the media, he said he has written a letter to the Chief Minister in this regard. He said several parts of the Sangareddy town have been facing acute water shortage and most of the people have been vacating their houses due to this.

He said the Godavari water is supplied to Patancheru area and demanded that the similar facility be provided to Sangareddy. He said as the Manjira and Singur dams have gone dry, the Sangareddy has been facing acute water shortage.

The MLA said 16 TMC of water of Singur and Manjira dams has been released to downstream despite protests from the Congress. He said he has held protests against the release.

As there was no flow in Manjira river, the dams have gone bone dry and looking like sports stadiums, he added.
