Jagtial: Transco shock to consumers
Jagtial: In a shock to power users, additional consumer deposit (ACD) is to be levied by Transco. The consumers are to be served notices in a day or two. The collection of ACD from December last year was temporarily stopped following protests by the Opposition parties, besides the consumers.
After the notices are served the deposits are to be collected from consumers in monthly bills. Actually the ACD charges were to be levied from February and March this year.
But following the protests by the Opposition the Transco officials temporarily stopped the collection of the deposit charges. Now they have decided to serve notices to the consumers on ACD payment. The officials say that the charges would be levied based on annual power consumption.
