Jagtial will be developed on par with Karimnagar

Jagtial: The Jagtial district will be developed on par with the old Karimnagar district and all officials, public representatives along with contractors must work in coordination to achieve this, said Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar. On Friday, he participated in various developmental activities that were taken up with an investment of Rs 7.33 lakhs in Jagtial district and laid foundation stones.

Speaking at a meeting, the Minister said after the formation of separate district, several developmental activities such as road laying, drainage constructions and power supply in interior colonies were taken up. After the formation of separate Statehood, for the first time, the State government is allotting funds directly to the municipalities from the budget. As part of that, the State government had allotted Rs 50 crores for Jagtial, Korutla and Metpalli municipalities and Rs 25 crores for Dharmapuri and Raikal municipalities, which have been formed recently, he informed. The developmental works couldn't be taken up all these days due to Model Code of Conduct in view of elections and assured of developing the district in all fields.

MLA Dr Sanjay Kumar, Zilla Parishad chairperson D Vasantha, District Collector Dr A Sharath, Markfed Chairman Loka Bapu Reddy, RDO and Municipal officer G Narendar were present along with others.
