Jala Shakthi Abhiyan Mela organised in Jagtial
Jagtial: Korutla MLA K Vidhyasagar Rao inaugurated the Jalashakti Abhiyan Kisan Mela in Jagtial on Friday. The Mela was organised at Krishi Vignan Centre of Ramgiri Khilla in association with District Rural Development Authority and Agriculture Department.
Addressing the programme, MLA Vidhyasagar Rao said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who knew the problems of farmers, is providing all the facilities that are required for their well-being such as 24-hour uninterrupted power supply and construction of projects for supplying water for irrigation purpose apart from providing input subsidy under schemes like Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bhima schemes.
The farmers must utilise all the facilities and schemes that are introduced for them. He advises the farmers to cultivate various types of crops in instead of just paddy and maize, to increasing the fertility of the land.
Joint Collector B Rajashem said that the central government identified Kathalapur, Medipalli, Malyala and Kodimyala mandals for conducting the first phase of Jala Shakthi Abhiyan Mela which would be held till September 15.
Various programmes are taken under the project in the selected mandals along with educating the villagers and farmers to cultivate the crops using minimum quantity of water through drip and sprinklers type of irrigation methods.
Professor Dr.A.Srinivas of Krishi Vignan Centre, scientist Dr Revathi, Dr. Gopya Nayak, Dr.Aruna Sri, DRDA PD Bikshapathi, ED of SC department Lakshminarayana, horticulture officer Pratap Singh, agriculture officer Ameena Bhi and District Coordination Committee members, MPPs, ZPTCs and MPTCs were present.
