Jangaon: Four die in car-truck collision

Jangaon: Four persons including two women were killed in a road accident when their car was hit by a truck near Devaruppula in Jangaon district on Thursday morning.

The collision was such that all the four persons travelling in the car died instantaneously, while the lone survivor is fighting for her life at MGM hospital in Warangal. The victims belong to Mahabubabad district.

According to Inspector B Ramesh Naik, the accident occurred when the driver of the DCM truck carrying coconuts heading to Hyderabad tried to overtake another truck lost control over the wheel and hit the car coming from opposite direction. The deceased were identified as P Ganesh, P Sukanya, P Sri Latha and driver Md Nazeer. Manjula, wife of Ganesh, who sustained grievous injuries, is being treated at MGM hospital in Warangal.

Ganesh along with his family members were on their way back from Shamshabad Airport after sending off his son to London. They hired a driver on Wednesday night before going to Shamshabad Airport.

The police registered a case under IPC Sections 304-A (Causing death by negligence) and 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering the life of others) against the truck driver.
