JPNCE celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas in Mahbubnagar

Mahbubnagar: Commemorating the Kargil victory, the staff and the students of Jayaprakash Narayan College of Engineering celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas on Friday at the college auditorium.

Marking the great victory, the college authorities organised a quiz, elocution and easy writing competitions for the students and gave away prizes to those who emerged top in the competition.

Taking part as the chief guest on the occasion, Venkata Rama Rao, JNPCE College Secretary said that every student must be proud of our country and the soldiers who have laid down their lives to save our borders.

He said Kargil intrusion by the Pakistanis was to undermine our strength. However, our soldiers fought back bravely and conquered all the heights and saved our country from the hands of terrorists.

"More than 522 soldiers had laid down their lives during Kargil war. We should not forget their sacrifices. The Vijay Diwas must inspire and encourage all of us to work for our country and its development in whatever manner and whatever way we can," said the Secretary.

Dr VM Sandeep, Principal of JPNCE, NCC official Lieutenant Vanisri and heads of various departments participated in the programme.
