Justice Hima Kohli appointed as Chief Justice of Telangana High Court

Justice Hima Kohli who has served as a judge of Delhi High Court has been appointed as Chief Justice of Telangana High Court. She has become the first woman Chief Justice of Telangana High Court.

Meanwhile, Justice RS Chauhan, the present Chief Justice of Telangana HC has been appointed as CJ of Jharkhand high court.

Born on September 2 in 1959 in Delhi, Hima Kohli did her BA (Hons) in History from St. Stephen's College and a post graduation from Delhi University. She studied law at the campus law center of DU. Kohli enrolled in the bar council in 1984 and was appointed as additional judge of Delhi HC on May 29 in 2006. She became a permanent judge on August 29 in 2007.

From May 20, 2020 - She is serving as Delhi State Legal Services Authority executive chairman and from June 30 as a member of National Law University Governing Council.
