Kabir Singh's director Sandeep Reddy Vanga slammed for his 'fear' remarks on the Hyderabad rape-murder case

Just like many other celebrities who expressed their anguish and dolour over the rape and killing of the women doctor in Hyderabad, Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy's director, Sandeep Reddy too, took to his social media handle to vent out against the rape and crime against women. Even though he strongly called for stricter laws against such heinous crimes and said 'Fear' should be the new rule in society, he was slammed by netizens and trollers who called him a hypocrite.

He wrote, "FEAR is the only factor which can change things radically in society and FEAR should be the new rule. The brutal sentence will set an example. Now every girl in the country needs a firm guarantee. I request @warangalpolice to come into action. #RIPPriyankaReddy." Moments after his tweet, the Ambarsariya singer Soha Mahapatra, who is also known for her outspoken nature, bashed at the director for his double standards. She pointed out the violent and misogynistic scenes in his films Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy and wrote, "Would also help if you did your job better. Stop making films where you glorify sexist behaviour, misogyny & violence against women. Films like #KabirSingh aka #ArjunReddy where you ride on male toxicity for commercial gain. Maybe use your 'virtue signalling' in your work?"

Not just Sona, but the Lootera director Vikramaditya Motwane also criticised Sandeep for his hypocrisy and was quick to take his case, "Will that FEAR stop them from slapping her?", he wrote.

The otherwise blockbuster films Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy had quite hit the charts in terms of business but continue to remain a topic of debate for its content which glorifies toxic masculinity and violence against women.
