Kagaznagar: Farmers on Friday staged a dharna, demanding urea supply, in front of the market yard at Kagaznagar in Asifabad district. Speaking on the occasion, Congress Sirpur constituency in-charge Dr Harish Babu questioned the authorities how they will distribute 400 urea bags that are present in the market yard to about 500 farmers standing in queue. He alleged that the market committee officials have been supplying urea bags to private traders and creating artificial shortage in the market and demanded the MLA to discuss the matter in the Assembly.

Harish Babu said that at present, each farmer needs about 10 to 15 urea bags. How can they cultivate if the government wouldn't fulfil their requirement? he questioned.

'Farmers were forced to purchase urea from private traders at a high price.' If the government fails to supply enough urea, then the farmers will take up agitation, he warned. Harish Babu also charged the market committee officials for not providing drinking water facility in the market.
