Kaleshwaram project : Ponnala's poser to KCR on AP affidavit
Hyderabad: Former president of Pradesh Congress Committee Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Saturday wanted to know from the chief minister as to why he was silent on the affidavit filed by the Andhra Pradesh government, opposing national project status to Kaleshwaram project.
Addressing the media, he said that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy knew very well that Kaleshwaram was an illegal project.
Though the project could have been completed with Rs 35,000 crores, the TRS government has taken it up to Rs one lakh crores, he alleged.
Ponnala said that, so far, even a drop of water has not been pumped by the project.
He said that though Rs 20,000 crores have been spent on Palamuru–Rangareddy project even one acre was not provided with irrigation facilities.
He mentioned that proposal to give water to Andhra Pradesh was meant to loot the public money. As the redesigning of Kaleshwaram was illegal, it would not get the national project status, he stated.
The people would teach the chief minister a lesson soon, Ponnala cautioned.
