Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak are boon to poor families: MLA Shanampudi Saidi Reddy in Suryapet

Nereducherla (Suryapet): Huzurnagar MLA Shanampudi Saidi Reddy stated that the State government's prestigious Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes were blessings to the poor to perform the wedding of their daughters.

On Thursday, the MLA distributed Shaadi Mubarak and Kalyana Laxmi cheques and also Bathukamma sarees to the beneficiaries during a programme held at Nereducherla mandal headquarters in the district.

Addressing the gathering, Shanampudi said even though Shaadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi schemes were not in the election manifesto, the Telangana government had introduced them in the interest of girl children of poor families in the State.

"Telangana is the only State in the country which has been Implementing schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak and providing financial aid to families to conduct the wedding of their daughters," the MLA said.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was not only keeping poll promises, but also implementing other promises for the welfare of all sections of the society, he added.

Stating that distribution of Bathukamma sarees was stopped in Huzurnagar constituency due to model code of conduct at the time of Dasara festival, he expressed his pleasure over handing over the sarees to beneficiaries in the auspicious Karthika Masam.

Meanwhile, Nalgonda MLA Kancharla Bhupal Reddy distributed Kalyana Lakshmi cheques to 100 beneficiaries at his camp office in Nalgonda on the day.
