Kamal Raju, Kanakaiah take charge as Khammam, Kothagudem ZP chiefs

Khammam: Lingala Kamal Raju took charge as the Zilla Parishad (ZP) Chairman of Khammam district, here at the ZP office on Wednesday. A swearing-in ceremony was conducted by District Collector RV Karnan to the 20 newly elected Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) members.

Kamal Raju is the first chairman of Zilla Parishad after the bifurcation of the erstwhile Khammam district. He won the election from Madhira mandal. Local legislators Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Sandra Venkata Veeraraiah and Ramulu Naik, MLC Balasani Laxmi Narayana, former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Mayor Papa Lal and other senior party leaders congratulated Kamal Raju.

After the swearing-in, TRS party leaders felicitated the members at a programme held at a private function hall. Kamal Raju thanked the party leaders and cadres for extending their cooperation.Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Priyanka, other officials and staff attended the programme.

Similarly, in Kothagudem, Koram Kanakaiah took charge as Zilla Parishad Chairman on Wednesday. Kanakaiah, a former MLA, was elected as ZPTC from Tekulapally mandal in the district. District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini administered oath to Kanakaiah and 21 newly-elected ZPTC members at ZP hall. Legislators Vanama Venkateswara Rao, Ramulu Naik, Rega Kantha Rao and M Nageswara Rao and former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy congratulated the members. Kanakaiah is the first ZP chairman of the Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.
