Kamareddy: Bahujana Democratic Student Federation (BDSF) State convener LN Azad said that BDSF State convention will be held in Kamareddy on January 23 and 24.

Speaking at a press meet here on Monday, Azad said that since its formation on August 18, 1999, BDSF has fought many battles till date, highlighting the kind of discrimination in education.

Lack of education is the main reason for the plight of Dalit Bahujan, hence Dr BR Ambedkar and Jyothirao Phule had struggled to create awareness among them about the importance of education, he added. After India got independence, the Indian Constitution gad provided reservations in employment and education for the Bahujans.

But Azad alleged that the ruling class has made education an expensive commodity in the present day. As a result, the poor Dalit Bahujan are unable to afford the education and only the wealthy people are able to get quality education.

In this situation, the House will discuss non-issue of scholarships and fee reimbursement, no jobs and other issues at the State convention, he informed.

Azad said that Prof Lakshminarayana from Central University, senior journalist Satish Chander, retired Prof Jayadheer Thirumala Rao from Central University, and BDSF State leaders will participate in the convention.
