Karimnagar: Aged people told to look after their health

Karimnagar: Aged people must focus on their health and must take certain measures to keep themselves fit and healthy, suggested District Legal Cell Authority secretary and Additional Senior Civil Judge M Satish Kumar.

Marking the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the District Legal Cell Authority on Friday organised free health checkup camp for the aged people at the Old Age Home at Housing Board Colony in Karimnagar and conducted legal awareness programme for the people.

Speaking on the occasion, District Legal Cell Authority secretary and Additional Senior Civil Judge M Satish Kumar said many diseases are spreading at an alarming rate due to non-maintenance of surroundings clean and tidy. To prevent these diseases, it is a must that every place must be maintained neat and hygienic.

He advised the organisers of the Old Age Home to maintain the premises of the home neat and clean and asked them to organise regular health checkup camps for the aged people living in the home along with supplying medicines to them. Satish Kumar suggested the aged people to do small exercises to keep themselves fit and to live active and health life.

District Government Hospital doctors checked the health condition of the residents of Old Age Home and distributed medicines free of cost to them. Later, Secretary Satish Kumar distributed fruits to the aged people.
