Karimnagar: Complete Gouravelli, Gandipally projects, Congress demands
Karimnagar: Separate Telangana was achieved with the slogan 'Water, funds and jobs', then why the TRS government is not completing Gouravelli and Gandipally projects for supplying water for Husnabad peopel, TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar questioned.
After inspecting Gouravelli and Gandipally projects in Husnabad mandal on Wednesday, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president Ponnam Prabhakar interacted with the oustees of the project. He questioned why the State government is not providing special package to the oustees of the projects of Husnabad mandal, when it had provided the same to the oustees of Mid Manair and Ranganayaka Sagar projects.
He also questioned Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Finance Minister T Harish Rao as to why they are not responding to the oustees, who are making rounds to the offices and local leaders. "Is Husnabad not listed in Telangana State? Why they are not bothered about the oustees of the projects taken up in Husnabad?"
Prabhakar alleged that the government is wasting public money in the name of redesigning of projects. Stating that former CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy laid foundation stone for Gouravelli project in Husnabad, he felt this project might have been completed long before if he (YSR) would have been alive.
Ranganayaka Sagar project taken up after Gouravelly project was completed by the Telangana government with a brisk pace, then why its showing discrimination on the people of this region, he wondered.
If the government fails to complete Gouravelli and Gandipally projects, then Congress along with the people of this region will take up massive movement and intensify the agitation until the projects are completed, he warned.
Husnabad Assembly segment Congress in-charge Bomma Sri Chakravarthi, Kedam Lingamurthy, Bolishetti Shivaiah, Komati Satyanarayana, town Congress president Akku Srinivas, Vanagara Mallesham and Mittapalli Kishtaiah were present along with others.
