Karimnagar District on high alert as more corona positive cases surface

Karimnagar: After knowing that the person, who gave shelter to the 10 Indonesians in Karimnagar city, tested positive for coronavirus, the district administration became alert.

District Collector K Shashanka and Police Commissioner VB Kamalasan Reddy inspected the areas where the Indonesian team stayed for three days in the city and issued orders the officials concerned to arrange barricades and to block the road leading to the areas of the Collectorate and Mukaramapura.

They appealed the religious elders of the masjid where the Indonesian team stayed and offered mass prayers to cooperate with the government in its efforts to prevent the spread of deadly coronavirus.

Following the government's orders, Karimnagar city observed the total lock down on the second day and all people of various sections remained indoors.

The police stopped some of the people, who came out and sent them back to their homes after giving them warning.

Reminding the government orders, the police asked the people not to gather in groups and not to travel more than one person on bike and two in a car, else they warned that criminal cases will be filed against such persons and their vehicles will be seized.

They reminded that there will be strict curfew from 7 pm to 6 am and nobody is allowed to come out during this time. The staff members of fire department sprayed Sodium-hypo chloride solution in the Collectorate region and in bus stand area.

Fire department officer C Venkanna said as per the orders issued by higher officials, they are spraying solution in the areas where large number of people will be gathered across city.

Meanwhile, the officials conducted medical tests to some persons and sent six suspected persons for testing to the Government Hospital in Karimnagar headquarters.

Meanwhile, Rajanna Sircilla District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar came on to the road and stopped vehicles that were openly roaming on the roads in groups without following the government orders.

Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy temple, Vemulawada, priests conducted Mruthyunjaya Dhanvantari Sudarshana Yagam to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
