Karimnagar: Indian Medical Association demands safe work environment
Karimnagar: Indian Medical Association (IMA) Karimnagar president Dr Poladi Srinivas Rao and State vice-president Dr BN Rao demanded a safe working environment and measures to ensure better security to the duty doctors.
Speaking with the media at IMA officer here on Monday, the doctors of IMA and Telangana Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (THANA) wanted the government to start zero-tolerance policy on against violence on doctors.
They called for stricter laws to protect the doctors across the country.
THANA State president Dr Satyasagar Rao, district president Dr Ravi and Dr Alleem said that the government should imprison all those for seven years, who attack hospital and doctors. A comprehensive Central law to deal with violence against doctors, healthcare staff and hospitals is needed and added that Act 11/2008 is in effect in Telangana State. A similar law by the Central government improves protection to the doctors.
