Karimnagar: Minister Eatala Rajender helps Dalit student secure medical seat
Karimnagar: Health Minister Eatala Rajender helped a Dalit student, who lost his medical seat due to the officials' negligence.
According to the details, a Dalit student, identified as C Vikram and resident of Chinna Tandrapadu village of Aaija mandal of Jogulamba Gajwal district, secured 430 marks in NEET examination and got 9,628 rank.
Vikram also got seat in B Sc Agriculture course at Jayashankar Government Agriculture College, after securing good rank in Eamcet and joined the college after handing over the original certificates to the college officials.
After three days, he got a message that he got seat in Prathima Medical College in second phase of NEET counselling and asked him to join the college by paying Rs 10,000 by December 26. The student asked the Agriculture college officials to give his original certificates, but they did not return them. Vikram showed custodial certificates, but Prathima Medical College authorities denied admission unless he submits original certificates. He managed to get original certificates from the Agriculture college and reached the medical college by evening on the same day. But he was not given admission and lost the medical seat due to the negligence of the college officials. After learning about the incident, Minister Rajender assured C Vikram that he would be allotted the medical seat, which he got after several days of hard work.
Vikram's parents thanked Minister Rajender for providing the medical seat to their son.
