Karimnagar: Move to shut down public places hits daily workers hard

Karimnagar: Following the outbreak of coronavirus across the country and its spread into India and Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao took the decision of closing all public places like educational institutions, cinema halls, malls etc till March 31 across the State to prevent the spread of dangerous Covid-19 virus.

The coronavirus started in China and is spreading at an alarming rate in about 147 countries present across the world.

The Chief Minister took the decision of closure public places with huge gatherings at a special meeting with the Ministers on Saturday and issued orders to the Collectors of all districts to take steps accordingly.

Following the government orders, the District Collectors along with DM&HOs of all four districts of erstwhile Karimnagar conducted a meeting with the officials of various departments and issued guidelines about the steps to be taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

In coordination with the administration of municipal and village panchayats, wide campaigning was done about the preventive steps to be taken to stop its spread under village panchayat and municipal limits across the four districts of Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jagtial and Rajanna Sircilla.

On the other hand, the government's decision to close all public places till March 31 has come like a major blow to the daily wage workers and the people working in function halls, cinema halls, restaurants etc. hundreds of people dependent on these establishments are going to lose their daily wages and has to face financial problems.

The police officials issued orders of taking serious action against those, who posts fake messages about coronavirus on social media, as per Register Management Act 2005 Section 54 and also for violation of Epidemic Disease Act 1897 under IPC section 188.
