Karimnagar: Plant saplings to mark KCR's birthday, officials told
Karimnagar: District Collector G Ravi ordered the officials of various departments to take up Haritha Haram programme marking the birthday of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on February 17 and plant the saplings at the premises of their respective departments.
The Collector held a review meeting with the officials of various departments here at the Collectorate conference hall in Jagtial district on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector G Ravi said that with love of plants, CM KCR has introduced a unique initiation called Haritha Haram programme. So on the occasion of his birthday on February 17 let every official convey their wishes by implementing the programme through planting of saplings in all the villages, mandals, district headquarters, government office, village panchayats, schools and colleges.
"Depending on the availability of the place at the premises of your respective departments plant a sapling you like and also make arrangements of planting at least 66 yo 100 saplings under all the village panchayat limits," he ordered.
If there is no sufficient place, then plant the saplings in the monkey food courts or at the place of dead ones and take care of the planted sapling by giving protection until it grows into a tree by adopting it selecting a big sapling from the panchayat nurseries, he suggested.
Additional Collector B Rajesham and District Revenue Officer Aruna Sri were present along with the officials of various departments.
