Karimnagar: Prevent irregularities at purchasing centers

Karimnagar: Purchase food grains from the farmers without giving any scope for irregularities at the purchasing centres, ordered BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar. He held a review meeting on purchasing food grains with Joint Collector Shyam Prasad Lal, vigilance officials and others at R&B guest house in Karimnagar on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister ordered the officials to probe an enquiry with the vigilance officials about the irregularities that took place at Chokkaraopet purchasing centre of Chigurumamidi mandal and submit the report immediately. They were also told to act against the persons, indulged in the irregularities. He said that some people, who do not own even a cent land, are selling food grains at purchasing centres in the name of tenant farmers. Civil Supplies department had designed a new software and details of every farmer including how much land he/she has, which crop they have cultivated, where they should sell the produce and other details will be available in this new software. He ordered the officials concerned to prevent irregularities at the purchasing centre by using this software.

Minister Kamalakar told the officials to take precautionary steps as rainfall is predicted within two to three days across the district and to make arrangements of tarpaulin to cover the purchased grains.

Informing that the vigilance officials had seized a lorry that was transporting 200 kgs of PDS rice in Huzurabad, the Minister ordered the officials concerned to identify the persons indulged in illegal transportation of PDS rice and to take action on the middlemen, who are recycling the PDS rice and indulging in irregularities.

Chief Vigilance Officer MS Prakash, Vigilance Additional SP Rama Rao, District Civil Supplies Officer Suresh Reddy, Civil Supplies department DM Srikanth, District Rural Development Officer Venkateshwar and District Cooperative Officer Manoj Kumar were present along with others.
